Super Refreshing Green Tea For Those Hot Summer Day’s

In the boiling hot days of summer it is likely many will reach for a soda to help keep cool. The truth is, sodas do not quench your thirst and there are many other healthier more refreshing options.
One really refreshing way to cool off on a hot day is by drinking a glass of iced tea and no better way than to make it with green tea.

Green tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis tree. It is said that the best green tea is grown in Japan, harvested in the spring. Recently its increased in popularity due to it’s health benefits. It is higher in antitoxins than traditional black tea. Green tea also contains vitamin C and fluoride.

Green tea has more of these properties than the traditional black teas because It goes through little to no processing, this brings out the antioxidants and vitamins but reduces the stimulant quality of this tea.

The best way to make Green tea is to use lose leaves and steep the tea leaves for about 20-30 minutes. These leaves are available in many grocery stores and health food stores. Steep by pouring the hot water on it and allowing it to cool slowly at room temperature, cooling it quickly will decrease the quality in taste.

Another quenching way to enjoy green tea is to make tea pops. Just fill a Popsicle tray with the cooled green tea, option to add some fruit such as citrus peel or even ginger, in each tray and enjoy once frozen. You can also make regular ice cubes of green tea for beverages.
